When I ran for City Council in 2017 I made a simple promise to you...

that I would be a "True Voice" for the families and everyday residents

of Smyrna's Ward 3. Special interests, the wealthy and well connected

have always been well represented in City Government. I have worked

hard to be your voice on City Council.  


You have invited me into your homes, we've  shared coffee, and

discussed the issues affecting your lives and those of your families and

loves ones. I am proud of my record because I've tried to listen to

understand all viewpoints before making decisions. Together, we have

worked to make Smyrna an even better place to live, work and raise a

family.  Here are just a few of the things I am proud to say with your

help we have accomplished in just under 2 years:

•    Was the first on council to demand action on Sterigenics
•    Voted to ban the sale of vaping products to 18 year-olds
•    Co -founded Sustainable Smyrna
•    Put forth the first resolution acknowledging Women’s History month
•    Voted for an affordable senior living community
•    Organized the first-ever Smyrna Black Heritage Celebration
•    Lead the effort on council that saved the Cochran Wall on Roswell St.
•    Made the successful motion that blocked an unsightly cell tower on Roswell Street
•    Motioned and voted to over-ride the Mayor's veto of a Hispanic Heritage Celebration
•    Sponsored a future land-use change to preserve moderate density in Williams Park
•    Leading the fight for a smoking-ban in Smyrna's restaurants, bars and public areas
•    Against a pending re-zoning application for a large medical office complex next to Campbell Middle School
•    Serve on the education committee
•    Routinely visit and read to our kids at local schools
•    Held town hall meetings for residents to update constituents and hear their voices
•    Supported Williams Park efforts to block a higher-density development on Spring Street
•    Voted for a live, work, shop community consistent with the Spring Rd. LCI Vision plan
•    Voted against a high-density townhome development on Sports Ave. with no mixed-use
•    Put forth the first Sustainable Smyrna resolution 
•    Actively support the Smyrna Tree Board and preserving Smyrna's tree canopy
•    Supported the Smyrna Tree Scarves project
•    Support a code amendment to city's tree ordinance to help preserve our tree canopy
•    Garnered talks between KSB & SouthFace for Green Cities initiative
•    Provided Turf Grass to KSB from involvement with the NFL Sustainability program
•    Received NAACP Influential Woman Award
•    Received House Resolution 227 in leading the charge to embrace diversity in Smyrna
•    Received the 2018 Community Service Award from Shaw Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, Lay Council
•    Received Certificate of Recognition from the University of Georgia, Carl Vinson Institute of Government & Georgia
