Maryline Blackburn is a dedicated community servant, businesswoman, and Grammy nominated recording artist. She has the experience, passion, and energy House District 34 needs in the Georgia General Assembly. She has volunteered for dozens of organizations, worked in sales, marketing, and management fields, and she is currently recording her fourth album.
Maryline Blackburn will be a new and much needed voice for House District 34. The district’s current representation in the Georgia House of Representatives ignores our concerns. Maryline will focus on implementing comprehensive solutions to our statewide transportation needs while being sensitive to our regional needs.
During these tough economic times, Maryline will work to provide teachers with the support they need to give our children a first class education and she will fight to ensure that our educational system prepares our children for the demands of 21st century so they will succeed in the global workforce.
As the Representative from House District 34, Maryline will also focus on keeping women’s issues at the forefront.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Maryline spent her formative years in Fairbanks, Alaska where her father served and retired from the United States Army.
In 1984, she competed in and won the Miss Alaska Pageant where Sarah Palin was the second runner-up. Maryline then went on to represent Alaska in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant, where she won a finalist talent award and was asked to tour with the Department of Defense (DOD) and the USO, featuring Bob Hope.
Maryline Blackburn is proud to call Georgia home for the past 24 years. She has dedicated countless hours volunteering with organizations such as Go Red for Women, Atlanta Interfaith Aids Alliance, Lifespan Senior Resources, March of Dimes, Smyrna Senior Citizens, Chastain Horse Park Therapeutic Program, Habitat of Georgia, Hands on Atlanta, Red Cross, and many others.
Maryline has received numerous Certificates of Appreciation from the U.S. Armed Forces, which include: United States Army Garrison, Camp Page; 19th Support Command, USAMSC-K and Camp Carroll, 616th Military Airlift Group, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska; Department of Defense, Alaska; Alaska Air Command; United States Army, Recreation Service Operation, Korea; USO, USS John F. Kennedy, and others.
